In case you missed the star-studded awards ceremony, taped live for ABC from L.A.'s Microsoft Theater, here are the top four moments and highlights, which you can also relive in the video above!

1. Green Day Takes a Political Stand

Green Day got political during a killer performance of their new track "Bang Bang." Taking aim at President-elect Donald Trump, the rock band's lead singer, Billie Joe Armstrong, repeatedly chanted mid-performance: "No Trump, no KKK, no fascist USA!" The political statement came weeks after Armstrong changed the lyric of 2004's "American Idiot" from "the subliminal mindf--k America" to "the subliminal mind Trump America" at the 2016 MTV Europe Music Awards.

2. Gigi Hadid Mocks Melania Trump

Gigi Hadid, who cohosted the AMAs with comic Jay Pharaoh, mocked Trump's wife, Melania Trump, early on in the show. Making a duckface, the 21-year-old supermodel spoke in a thick Eastern-European accent and poked fun at the soon-to-be first lady's RNC speech, which she allegedly plagiarized from Michelle Obama's 2008 DNC address. The snarky impression garnered mixed reactions, with many social media users calling Hadid's actions "racist."

3. Chrissy Teigen Slams "F—ked Up Election"

Oops! Chrissy Teigen got censored while introducing her husband John Legend's performance of "Love Me Now." As she teased the sentimental meaning behind the tune, the 30-year-old model (and avid Hillary Clinton supporter) said, "On the heels of what's been a really interesting, f--ked up, f--king election for all of us, I think we could all use a little love tonight."

4. Selena Gomez Gives Emotional Post-Rehab Speech

Selena Gomez made her first post-rehab appearance at the AMAs, where she delivered an emotional speech and opened up about her personal struggles while accepting the award for pop/rock artist. "I think it's safe to say most of you know a lot of my life, whether I liked it or not," the 24-year-old singer said with tears in her eyes. "I had to stop because I had everything, and I was absolutely broken inside, and I kept it all together enough to where I would never let you down, but I kept it too much together to where I let myself down. ... If you are broken, you do not have to stay broken."
