He'll play a recovering alcoholic in 'Loudermilk.'
Ron Livingston is returning to the small screen.
The actor, best known for Office Space, Swingers and HBO's Boardwalk Empire, has been tapped to star in Peter Farrelly comedy series Loudermilk for the AT&T Audience Network.
The 10-episode comedy tells a fictionalized story of Dave Loudermilk (Livingston), a recovering alcoholic and substance abuse counselor with an extremely bad attitude about everything. He is unapologetically uncensored — and has managed to piss off everyone in his life. To Loudermilk, a stranger is just an enemy he hasn’t met yet. In his day-to-day life, the only thing Loudermilk has under control is his drinking.
For Livingston, the role marks his first TV series regular gig since HBO's Boardwalk Empire. On the film side, his credits include The 5th Wave, The End of Tour, James White and Digging for Fire. He also collected a Golden Globe nom for HBO's Band of Brothers. He also counts HBO's Sex and the City among his work.
Farrelly and Bobby Mort will serve as showrunners on the project, which hails from independent studio Primary Wave Entertainment. Production will begin in October in Vancouver, with Primary Wave set to co-produce the series. Farrelly, Mort, Primary Wave's Mark Burg and David Guillod will exec produce.
The series will air on DirecTV and AT&T U-verse. A premiere date has not yet been determined.
