Jill Kargman in 'Odd Mom Out.'
The cable network's lone comedy, from Jill Kargman, will return in 2017.
Odd Mom Out will ride again on Bravo.
The comedy, starring and inspired by the writing of Jill Kargman, has been renewed for a third season on the cable network. It remains the lone comedy on Bravo as it continues its push into scripted programming.
Odd Mom Out, which stars Kargman, Abby Elliott, Andy Buckley, K.K. Glick, Sean Kleier, and Joanna Cassidy, will return in 2017 with another 10 episodes. The order comes after the summer's run of the second season improved from its 2015 debut. The show averaged 1.1 million viewers. That's not huge by overall Bravo standards but strong for scripted as it continues to make inroads into the genre.
"Led by Jill Kargman, the incredible cast and crew of Odd Mom Out delivered comedy gold in season two that culminated in an epic cliffhanger, leaving our viewers desperate for more," said Bravo senior vp development Lara Spotts. "Another season of this hilarious and sophisticated gem further demonstrates Bravo's commitment to unique and high-quality scripted programming."
Next up for Bravo is dark comedy My So-Called Wife, which just added Uma Thurman. It will join Odd Mom Out and Girlfriend's Guide to Divorce on the growing slate of scripted originals.
Taking cues from Kargman's own life on Manhattan's Upper East Side, most notably in her book Momzillas, Odd Mom Out chronicles a satirical version of Jill dealing with much wealthier moms in her tony neighborhood. It is produced by Left/Right Productions, Jax Media and Piro.
