Brad Pitt Wants Joint Custody of Kids With Angelina Jolie: Report

Brad Pitt plans to fight Angelina Jolie for joint physical custody of their six children in their divorce case, according to TMZ.

The news outlet reported Wednesday, September 21, that the Fight Club actor, 52, is ready to battle the Oscar-winning actress, 41, for joint physical custody and wants to coparent their kids, Maddox, 15, Pax, 12, Zahara, 11, Shiloh, 10, and twins Knox and Vivienne, 8.

As Us Weekly previously reported, Jolie filed for divorce from Pitt on Monday, September 19, after 12 years together and two years of marriage, citing irreconcilable differences. She is seeking sole physical custody of their kids, and requested in the divorce filings that Pitt only receive joint legal custody.

Shortly after the shocking news broke Tuesday, September 20, a source told Us Weekly exclusively that the Ocean's Eleven actor was blindsided by his estranged wife's divorcing filing. "Brad only found out about the divorce decision yesterday," an insider told Us.

Jolie, meanwhile, issued a statement to Us via her rep, saying, "Angelina Jolie Pitt has filed for dissolution of the marriage. This decision was made for the health of the family. She will not be commenting at this time, and asks that the family be given their privacy during this difficult time."

A second insider told Us on Tuesday that the pair often clashed over parenting styles during their two-year marriage, explaining, "They came so close to this before. They fought a lot over the years and disagreed about many things."
