Donald Trump said on Friday that Hillary Clinton’s bodyguards should disarm and “let’s see what happens to her.” Now celebrities are reacting to the comment. See stars’ reaction tweets below.
Speaking at a rally in Miami about Clinton’s gun control stance, Trump said, “I think that her bodyguards should drop all weapons. They should disarm. Right? Right? I think they should disarm, immediately. What do you think? Yes. Take their guns away. She doesn’t want guns. Take theirs, let’s see what happens to her. Take their guns away, okay? It would be very dangerous.”
This is now the second time that Trump’s rhetoric has suggested violence against Clinton. As Gossip Cop reported, Trump was previously slammed for a comment about Clinton and the 2nd Amendment, which many interpreted as an assassination reference. Now the Republican nominee is getting slammed again for this latest remark.
Josh Gad tweeted, “Twice now, Trump has insinuated a cute way to assassinate his rival. Are you kidding me?!!!! How is this man allowed to run for president?” Judd Apatow said, “Well– @realDonaldTrump has revealed he is just a piece of sh*t again. No reason to be clever about it.” Sophia Bush posted, “More death threats. More rumors. Can someone please just make him go away?”
“So in this ‘joke,’ the punchline is that she dies?” asked Chrissy Teigen, adding, “Basically nothing he says shocks anyone anymore. This is so f*cking sad.” Kathy Griffin was asked for her reaction by a Twitter follower, and she replied, “Deplorable.” Celebrity chef Tom Colicchio also tweeted, “Trump, ‘Take HRC body guards guns away and see what happens to her’ really.” See video of Trump making the controversial comments below.
