Mel Gibson is expecting his ninth child with girlfriend Rosalind Ross, a rep confirms to Gossip Cop. The 60-year-old actor and 26-year-old screenwriter have been dating for two years.
It hasn’t been revealed how far along Ross is in her pregnancy, but the baby is expected to be born early next year. Ross began her career as a champion equestrian vaulter, winning a gold medal at the World Equestrian Games in 2010, but she’s recently forayed into screenwriting. She wrote an episode of the TV show, “Matador,” while her first feature film, the war drama Lioness starring Ellen Page, is currently in pre-production. Ross first met Gibson in 2014 after applying for a job at his production company.
Gibson’s eight previous children range in age from 6 to 36-years-old. With his first wife Robyn Moore, the actor had seven kids, daughter Hannah and six sons Edward, Christian, William, Louis, Milo and Thomas. Gibson then went on to have another daughter, Lucia, with Oksana Grigorieva, to whom he was married from 2009-2010 and had a contentious divorce. Back in June, there were rumors that Gibson was going to be a dad for the ninth time with his girlfriend, but a rep for the actor told Gossip Cop at the time that it was “not true.”
