Gwen Stefani and Blake Shelton are NOT in talks to star in a spin-off of “The Voice,” despite an inaccurate tabloid report. Gossip Cop can exclusively correct this claim. We’re told it’s “not true.”
Stefani won’t be returning as a coach for the upcoming season of the singing competition series, but according to OK!, NBC is still looking to capitalize on her and Shelton’s high-profile relationship. The tabloid alleges network executives are “throwing around ideas for a potential spin-off series starring the lovebirds,” quoting a so-called “source” as saying, “There are a bunch of ideas in the works to give the two of them a variety-type show.”
As promising an idea as this spin-off might sound, Gossip Cop checked in with Stefani’s rep, and we’re exclusively told no such series is in the works. Despite the magazine’s baseless attempt to get fans’ hopes up, we’re told there haven’t been any talks about a variety show, and the outlet’s claim is simply “not true.”
Of course, Gossip Cop has debunked OK!’s numerous tall tales about the music superstars, so this latest piece of fiction doesn’t come as much of a surprise. We recently busted the magazine for its false cover story claiming Stefani was pregnant with twin girls. Shortly before that fabrication, Gossip Cop called out the tabloid for wrongly alleging Stefani and Shelton were headed for a split over supposed “trust issues.” The publication’s latest assertion about a variety show starring the couple is equally untrue.
