Gillian Anderson is NOT pursuing a romance with “X-Files” co-star David Duchovny, despite a bogus webloid report. Gossip Cop can exclusively correct this claim. We’re told it’s “false.”
“The X-Files” was revived for a six-episode limited run earlier this year, and there have been recent talks about the sci-fi show returning for even more episodes. Anderson has expressed she’s open to the idea of another season, but according to Celeb Dirty Laundry, the actress “may have ulterior motives to continuing the franchise.”
Without a single source to back up its manufactured claim, the site speculates Anderson wants to be back on set because “filming would allow her another chance to establish a relationship” and “help spark the romance” with Duchovny. Despite the outlet’s piece being purely theoretical and unsubstantiated, Gossip Cop still checked in with a source close to Anderson, who exclusively assures us the webloid’s story is completely “false.”
Unfortunately, this isn’t the first time CDL has attempted to concoct a phony romance between the two “X-Files” co-stars, who have never dated. Earlier this year, Gossip Cop called out the site for falsely alleging Duchovny and Anderson went on a “romantic beach getaway” together. But there was no truth to the claim, and the same goes for this latest one. It should also be noted, both Duchovny and Anderson have gone on the record several times to debunk romance rumors.
