Was Bryce Dallas Howard told to lose weight? A tabloid is claiming she was “body-shamed” by movie executives. Gossip Cop can trim the fat from this story.

Star announces in its current issue, “Beautiful Bryce Body-Shamed By Execs.” The accompanying story says, “You call this fat? Sources say Bryce Dallas Howard was told to lose weight before doing press for her new movie, Pete’s Dragon, leaving the 35-year-old shocked and humiliated.”

A so-called “insider” is quoted as saying, “Execs told her she looks heavier than she does in the movie. But Bryce said she’s not playing Tomb Raider — she doesn’t need to go to extremes to promote a kids’ movie.” The magazine goes on to note, “Bryce put on 80 pounds while pregnant with daughter Beatrice in 2012, but became a gym junkie to star in Jurassic World. Now, she says, she’s found a happy place — like it or lump it!”

While this might seem like a supportive story, it’s actually Star that is doing the humiliating. Howard was never told by anyone to lose weight, so the tabloid seemingly manufacturing such a claim is embarrassing, not to mention inappropriate. A rep for the actress exclusively tells Gossip Cop the report is a “fabrication.”
