The most decorated Olympian of all time continues to make history during the Summer Games with his latest feat, which marks his first silver medal in Rio and 27th Olympic medal overall. As Gossip Cop previously reported, Phelps won gold in the 200-meter individual medley on Thursday night, making him the first swimmer to win four gold medals at the same individual event in consecutive Olympics. He also took home two gold medals on Tuesday with the 200-meter butterfly and 4x200m freestyle relay, and another last Sunday during the 4×100-meter freestyle relay.

Rio is expected to be Phelps’ fifth and final Olympic Games, but seeing as he came out of retirement to compete in the event, there’s always a chance we’ll see him back to make more history in the future. In fact, friend and rival Ryan Lochte said he wants to see Phelps at the 2020 Olympic games in Tokyo.
