Are Gwen Stefani and Blake Shelton in a “rough patch”? One of the tabloids claims there’s trouble brewing in paradise. Gossip Cop can reveal what’s going on.
In Touch writes in this week’s issue that “with their one-year anniversary approaching and wedding plans under way,” Stefani and Shelton were “inseparable” before she went out on tour, and “mulling a Christmas wedding.” But it’s said things aren’t entirely smooth-sailing for the couple lately. A so-called “source” is quoted as saying, “Gwen and Blake have hit a rough patch in their relationship.”
“Now with some distance between them, Gwen’s had doubts, even as they are interviewing wedding planners,” alleges the magazine. “She’s wondering if they got serious too fast, before she had time to process her breakup with Gavin [Rossdale].” But the outlet’s supposed snitch insists, “They’ll work through it. They’re in love.”
Here’s what’s really going on: In Touch is trying to play both sides of the coin. If Shelton and Stefani end up splitting sometime down the road, it can point to this story about their alleged “rough patch.” But if they stay together for the long haul, then their source’s prediction was right, too.
In actuality, though, the outlet doesn’t have a clue what’s going on with the couple, and hasn’t from the start. For instance, their anniversary is still several months away, and Stefani still isn’t having twins, as In Touch wrongly claimed in May. As for any “rough patch,” she and Shelton have their issues, just like every romance does.
But they’ve managed to see each other quite a bit during Stefani’s tour, and will continue to do so when Shelton hits the road this fall. For now, this couple is still going strong. If that changes, Gossip Cop will have the accurate update, not In Touch.
