ABC Boss On ‘Grey’s Anatomy’: I’m ‘Excited To See What Happens Next’

"Grey's Anatomy" is heading into its 13th season on ABC and is showing no signs of slowing down, according to the network's Entertainment President.

On Thursday, Channing Dungey, ABC's Entertainment President, was asked by a reporter at the Television Critics Association Summer Tour how she feels about the future of the show. The ABC boss said she is still "excited" about the long running series.

"It's so rare to have a show that was as creatively on fire as this show was in Season 12 last year," Dungey told reporters after her executive session at TCAs. "The idea that we're heading into our 13th season at a, I feel like a new zenith of creativity and inspiration, makes me really excited to see what happens next."

Asked if she's hoping to see "Grey's" continue beyond what NBC's "ER" did (the program ran for 15 season), Dungey replied, "It'd be awesome."

She also chimed in about "Scandal" Season 6, which won't return until February.

The first script is "fantastic," Dungey said.

"It feels very much like a return to form," she added.

"Grey's Anatomy" returns for Season 13 on Sept. 22 at 8/7c on ABC.
