Taylor Swift, Tom Hiddleston “Proposal” Report NOT True

Taylor Swift is not “pining for a proposal” from Tom Hiddleston, despite a report. Gossip Cop can exclusively separate the fact from the fiction.

In Wednesday’s new issue of Star, it’s alleged, “As Taylor Swift’s picture-perfect world lies in shambles, thanks to Kanye West’s secret recording, the pop princess is clinging to the one person sticking by her side: Tom Hiddleston.” A so-called “pal” is quoted as saying, “Taylor and Tom talk about spending the rest of their lives together, but if he’s serious about settling down, then he needs to propose.”

“Tom was hoping to buy some time, but it sounds like Taylor wants to announce their engagement soon,” claims the supposed source. It’s even alleged Swift has “set her sights on the 2016 Emmy Awards in September.” The outlet’s tipster explains, “Taylor will want all eyes on them, and what better way than to walk down the red carpet with a rock on her finger.”

After all, Star says Hiddleston is “no stranger to Taylor’s demands.” In fact, the tabloid claims he “flew all the way out to L.A. to console the singer after she failed to score a single MTV VMA nomination (the cruelty!).” Of course, that’s not really what happened.

Hiddleston actually came to Los Angeles last month for Comic-Con, and Swift didn’t need to be “consoled” regardless, as she never put her videos in contention for the VMAs this year. And while the tabloid cheekily says of the singer and her new romance, “Boy, she’s swift,” that’s not entirely accurate, either.

Swift and Hiddleston’s relationship has certainly progressed quickly, in part due to the fact that she has no career obligations right now that prevent her from traveling with him. But the notion that she’s already pressuring the actor to get engaged is simply not true. In fact, our contact actually laughed when Gossip Cop brought up this new “pining for a proposal” tale.
