Angelina Jolie did NOT catch Brad Pitt with Jennifer Aniston, despite a made-up and misleading tabloid cover story. Gossip Cop can exclusively correct this claim. We’re told there’s “no truth” to it.
Following a bait-and-switch headline alleging Jolie “caught” her husband with his ex-wife, In Touch goes on to clarify she only overheard him talking to Aniston on the phone. A so-called “source” tells the tabloid when Jolie confronted her husband over this supposed incident, he “told Angelina that it had been two months since Jen’s mom, Nancy, died and he wanted to see how she was doing.”
The magazine’s alleged insider adds, “She accused Brad of sneaking behind her back with Jen and yelled that he’d ruined all their new plans for the future.” The publication’s questionable “source” continues, “They’ve run into another land mine, and it all has to do with Brad reconnecting with Jen again.”
The tabloid’s seemingly phony insider further purports Jolie views Aniston as her “ultimate rival” and Pitt’s supposed reunion with the actress has the couple trading “icy glares and stony silences.” “Their fragile marriage has blown up, and it’s all over Jen,” adds the outlet’s questionable insider. “That phone call was a betrayal as far as Angelina’s concerned.”
But Gossip Cop checked in with a source close to Pitt and Jolie, who exclusively assures us there’s “no truth” the tabloid’s account of events. There have been no secret phone calls between Pitt and Aniston, nor is his and Jolie’s marriage in trouble. This is all simply made-up.
Of course, Gossip Cop has busted In Touch’s many attempts at creating a bogus love triangle between the three stars, so this latest piece of fiction comes as no surprise. We recently debunked the magazine’s cover story that falsely alleged Jolie and Aniston were having a “showdown” over Pitt. And shortly before that, Gossip Cop corrected the outlet for wrongly reporting both Pitt and Aniston were getting divorces. This latest claim is just more lies from the repeatedly disproven tabloid.
