Each season of The Bachelorette invariably produces a few losers — but ABC is not one of them. After a solid showing during the first half of the summer, The Bachelorette went out on a high note and matched its finale scores from a year ago.
The two-hour season finale rose to a 2.5 rating among adults 18-49 and 8.4 million viewers. Lead-out "After the Final Rose" scored almost as well, averaging a 2.3 rating in the key demographic. Among adults 18-49, both shows were dead even with last summer's cycle ender.
NBC ranked second place for the night, though an even American Ninja Warrior trailed The Bachelorette with a 1.6 rating among adults 18-49. Running Wild With Bear Grylls returned to the dial in similar shape as last summer, pulling a 1.1 rating in the key demo during the very competitive 10 o'clock hour.
So You Think You Can Dance was also new, averaging a steady 0.7 rating among adults 18-49.
