Taylor Swift is not helping Tom Hiddleston get the James Bond role, despite a fabricated report. Gossip Cop can exclusively correct the claim. We’re told it’s nonsense.

According to the repeatedly disproven Celeb Dirty Laundry, Swift is “using her powerful Hollywood connections” to make sure her boyfriend becomes the next James Bond. The webloid claims Swift is “pulling a few strings” to secure the 007 role for Hiddleston. The site further alleges Swift’s motivation for Hiddleston becoming Bond is that it could “help her own career.” Getting to write and perform the Bond opening theme, claims the outlet, “would definitely prove to the entertainment world that Taylor Swift is a force to be reckoned with.”

The absurdity of this latest article from CDL is almost mind-bloggling. And it should be noted that the webloid has absolutely no sources to back up its story. For starters, Hiddleston doesn’t need Swift’s “Hollywood connections.” He’s already a big movie star, who’s appeared in a few blockbusters. Additionally, he doesn’t need any strings to be pulled by Swift, who’s a singer, when his agents are among the biggest in Hollywood, representing such other actors as Matt Damon, Denzel Washington, Idris Elba, Ben Affleck, and Liam Hemsworth, to name just a very few.

Equally ridiculous is the notion that Swift doing a song for a James Bond film soundtrack “could help her career” and show everyone she’s a “force to be reckon with.” Right, because no one ever heard of Paul McCartney before Wings recorded the theme song for Live And Let Die. Anyway, Swift is already one of the most successful musicians of all time. Just last year, Swift was Forbes’ highest-paid celebrity in the world, having earned $170 million.

Still, despite how ludicrous and apparently factually inaccurate the webloid’s report is, Gossip Cop investigated, and a source close to the situation assures us the article is pure “nonsense. Of course, Gossip Cop is not surprised by the falsity of the site’s story. Just a few days ago, we busted the blog when it maintained, contrary to its latest story, that Hiddleston’s PR team wants him to break up with Swift. While the outlet’s tall tales might often contradict each other, what remains constant is that the CDL’s claims are often entirely wrong.
