‘Westworld,’ ‘Insecure’ Premiere Dates Announced By HBO

HBO has announced premiere dates for several of its new shows, including "Westworld" and Issa Rae's comedy "Insecure."

"Westworld," from Jonathan Nolan and Lisa Joy, based on the motion picture from Michael Crichton, will debut on Sunday, Oct. 2 at 9 PM ET/PT, HBO announced on Saturday at the Television Critics Association Summer Tour.

Anthony Hopkins, Evan Rachel Wood, Ed Harris, James Marsden and Thandie Newton are among the show's stars. The series focuses the drama around an amusement park for humans, filled with AIs.

"Building on the incredibly evocative concept of the original film, we wanted to pose the question: If you could be completely immersed in a fantasy, one in which you could do whatever you wanted, would you discover things a about yourself that you didn’t want to know?" Nolan said in a statement.

Additionally, HBO announced that its new 8-episode comedy series "Insecure," starring Issa Rae, debuts on Oct. 9 at 10:30 PM ET/PT.

The show follows characters Issa and Molly (Yvonne Orji), who "must deal with their own real-life flaws as they attempt to navigate different worlds and cope with an endless series uncomfortable everyday experiences," per the network.

Sarah Jessica Parker's new comedy,  premieres in the time slot before "Insecure," on Oct. 9 at 10 PM ET/PT.
