Kelly Clarkson knows the show must always go on.
The 34-year-old music superstar took to Facebook Live on Friday, giving fans an impromptu concert that proved even the most seasoned professionals flub their lines now and again.
Appearing casual and fresh-faced, Kelly poked fun at her "unkempt" hair and confessed she hadn't "looked in a mirror" before kicking off the segment – and forgetting the words to nearly every song she sang.
"I swear, I've only had coffee," she joked.
The "American Idol" champ took fan requests and sang hits like "Catch My Breath," "Beautiful Disaster" and "Walk Away," realizing that it's hard to keep up with her vast repertoire.
"There's a lot of songs! It's 15 years," she laughed, after needing help with multiple verses.
"Dear Lord, I don't know lyrics," she moaned.
Kelly also couldn't help but point out the irony of her forgetfulness.
"You're picking the ones I wrote too, like, thinking it's going to help. But it's not," she said.
A few lyrics may have escaped her, but Kelly maintained the melody and pitch of every song while improvising filler words throughout.
However, she anticipated a bit of blowback for the rough-and-tumble performance.
"I'm gonna get so much crap for this," she laughed. "This was the worst idea … You're welcome for the comedy hour."
She wrapped up with a full-throated rendition of her "Idol" swan song, "A Moment Like This."
"This is hard! I'm sweating!" Kelly exclaimed. "I feel like I'm on a game show."
Despite her good-natured demeanor throughout the clip, Kelly wasn't just performing for the sheer fun of it.
The songstress told viewers she was in the studio working on a secret project tied to the launch of her upcoming children's book, "River Rose and the Magical Lullaby," named after her 2-year-old daughter.
"It's a surprise," she teased, "and it might involve the cutest little girl ever."
River probably won't be Kelly's go-to collaborator for long.
The singer and husband Brandon Blackstock welcomed their second child, a son named Remington, back in April.
