Brad Pitt And Justin Theroux “Box Office Battle” Sensationalized

Brad Pitt and Justin Theroux are not going to be in a “box office battle,” despite a ridiculously sensationalized report about “Jennifer Aniston’s men.” Gossip Cop can expose what’s really going on.

According to the New York Post, “Jennifer Aniston’s husbands are set for an awkward showdown” because “both her ex Brad Pitt and current hubby, Justin Theroux, have movies coming out on Oct. 7.” The tabloid notes, “The Pitt-narrated IMAX film Voyage of Time will go head-to-head with Theroux’s thriller, The Girl on the Train.”

“It’s going to be a tough box-office battle to predict: Although Pitt’s the sixth-most-bankable man in Hollywood, his flick is a doc about the history of time, while Theroux’s is one of the most anticipated films of the year,” says the paper, which adds, “May the best Aniston man win.”

But while the gossip media would love to see this be a true “battle” between Pitt and Theroux, it’s actually anything but. The two films in question are totally different movies targeting totally different audiences. Pitt doesn’t even appear in Voyage of Time, which will only have a limited release.

That’s not comparable to the wide-release planned for The Girl On The Train, which, by the way, only features Theroux in a supporting role. To, no pun intended, pit the two projects against each other just because Pitt and Theroux have Aniston in common is utterly absurd. This “head-to-head” competition only exists in the tabloids.
