Jimmy Buffett kicked off the weekend with a concert on Friday’s “Today” show. Check out the video below!
On Thursday, the morning show tweeted that they would be on “island time” when Buffett took the stage in Rockefeller Plaza. Despite the rain, that’s certainly what it felt like when fans gathered to watch the laid-back performer belt out some of his classic songs. His set included “Margaritaville” and “Summzercool.”
Buffett will turn 70 later this year, but his performance style remains as easy-going as ever. In fact, he’s still touring around the country. Upcoming gigs include shows in Boston, Atlantic City, and Omaha.
But that’s not all he’s got going on these days. Buffett has also been working on a musical called “Escape to Margaritaville.” The show is slated to debut next year in La Jolla, California.
And Buffett, who attended the Jason Bourne premiere last week, is still a favorite among Hollywood stars. As Gossip Cop reported, he provided the entertainment after last year’s Jurassic World premiere. At the star-studded party, Chris Pratt went on stage to join Buffett and his Coral Reefer Band for “Margaritaville.” Both films were produced by Buffett’s longtime friend, Frank Marshall.
At the “Today” show, it will be up to Andy Grammer to keep the summer party going this Monday, before Blake Shelton takes the spotlight next Friday. Watch all the Buffett videos below!
