Prior to Wednesday’s announcement, three other cops were tried and acquitted of all charges. As Gossip Cop reported, Gray was arrested on April 12, 2015, and after not being seat-belted into a police car, he suffered a spinal injury that resulted in his death a few days later. Kerry Washington tweeted, “This is awful. Where is the justice. #FreddieGray #BlackLivesMatter” Jesse Williams wrote, “If ‘law enforcement’ isn’t accountable for the easily verifiable homicide of #FreddieGray, then what’s the point of ‘law’ or a constitution?” And Solange Knowles said with disbelief, “…ruled a homicide, with no murderer. #FreddieGray”

Russell Simmons felt, “The system is broke and we need to fix it. #FreddieGray” Ava DuVernay similarly expressed, “The system we allow has failed him. Our shame. #FreddieGray” “Republicans, ‘conservative Christians,’ #BlueLivesMatter folk, you can’t spare an ounce of compassion or empathy for #FreddieGray? Not one?” added Jeffrey Wright.

Meanwhile, Jackée lashed out, “#FreddieGray’s death was ruled a homicide, yet no one is being charged for it. Ludicrous. We need accountability! #BlackLivesMatter” Gossip Cop will continue to update as more stars react to the dropping of charges against the last three officers who were set to send trial for the death of Freddie Gray.
