The villains are taking a page out of the heroes' book on Legends of Tomorrow.

Producers announced Saturday at Comic-Con that the superhero drama will introduce a historic supervillain team up in season two and that first-ever group will be called the Legion of Doom, comprised of Malcolm Merlyn (John Barrowman), Damien Darhk (Neal McDonough), Reverse-Flash (Matt Letscher) and Captain Cold (Wentworth Miller). Barrowman surprised the audience by joining the panel in the final minutes to announce his arrival on the show.

Greg Berlanti-verse fan-favorite villain Reverse-Flash/Eobard Thawne was first introduced on The Flash in season one, but Letscher will now be a series regular on Legends of Tomorrow. Miller and Barrowman already signed deals to appear on all the DC Comics TV shows earlier this summer including Legends, Arrow and The Flash (and now possibly Supergirl). McDonough will now have a recurring role on Legends.

“For season two of Legends, we decided that the perfect antagonist for TV’s first-ever team of superheroes would be TV’s first-ever team of supervillains, recruited from the ranks of Arrow and The Flash’s deadliest adversaries," executive producer Marc Guggenheim said. "Being huge fans of the Challenge of the Superfriends, we’ve come to call this group our ‘Legion of Doom.’”

To help balance out the new influx of supervillains, Legends season two is also going to introduce several members of the Justice Society of America. The arrival of the JSA was teased in the season one finale when Rex Tyler aka Hourman (Patrick J. Adams) arrived in his own Waverider to warn the Legends team that if they boarded their Waverider, they would all die. During the panel, the show’s executive producers and cast revealed that some of Tyler’s fellow JSA members will appear this season. The only confirmed DC Comics characters so far are Obsidian, Stargirl and Dr. Mid-Nite, though the roles have yet to be cast. The announcement of Stargirl got the biggest cheer from Ballroom 20, and Guggenheim joked that he should have waited to reveal her last.

"Even the heroes have heroes," executive producer Phil Klemmer said. "For us, the Justice Society of America is like the golden age of superheroes. If ours is a family, it's like meeting your grandfathers and grandmothers and realizing they were real superheroes. We have an unconventional way of doing things on our team, and some of our heroes can learn something from them."

Guggenheim and Klemmer also revealed that Arrow's Stephen Amell would be the first official crossover this season. He will appear as Mayor Oliver Queen in the Legends season two premiere.
