Khloe Kardashian is defending her decision to show support for Royce Mann, the 14-year-old boy whose “White Boy Privilege” slam poetry has gone viral. See video below.
On Saturday, Kardashian posted a clip on Istagram from Mann’s impassioned followed-up performance, which was called “All Lives Matter, But…” She wrote in the caption, “Praying for peace, justice and equality for ALL!” Kardashian also tweeted video of Mann’s “White Boy Privilege” speech.
But the reality star was then slammed by followers on both social media sites for allegedly only commenting on such issues selectively. The response led Kardashian to update her Instagram caption to note, “This video really must be hitting a nerve. The arguing in my comments is the complete opposite of this message.”
She further tweeted, “Not grasping the point of my post. It’s not about getting a # Trending. It’s About Bringing Awareness At All Times.” Included in that tweet was a screengrab of one of the critical Instagram comments. It read, “Khloe why you didn’t post sh*t when then sh*t was going on? But since a young men [sic] your color want to speak up you want to repost it and say you are listening your [sic] a f*cking joke smhhhhh.”
Kardashian also screengrabbed her response, in which she wrote, “What do you mean ‘when sh*t was going on’? This sh*t is constantly going on. I am allowed to post things at any time that I choose. And mind you, I did post when ‘sh*t was going on.’ You are the problem with the world. Only doing things when A hashtag Is Trending. SMH.”
Kardashian later deleted the tweet and the screengrabs. She went on to add, however, “Damned if I do. Damned if I don’t.” Kardashian then exchanged tweets with supportive followers who told her to stop reading comments sections and keep being herself. See the videos that sparked the dustup below.
