British actor Duane Henry will recur in the final episodes of season 13 with an option to become a series regular next season.
NCIS is bulking up once again as it braces for Michael Weatherly's upcoming departure.
British actor Duane Henry (Doctors) has landed a recurring role in the final episodes of season 13, The Hollywood Reporter has learned.
Henry will play Clayton Reeves, an MI-6 officer who rose above his British blue-collar roots to become a successful government agent. Offbeat and fun with swagger to spare, he has a professional confidence that’s impossible to disregard. Although Reeves has burned his fair share of bridges in the international intelligence community is an understatement, he owns the choices he’s made and he's determined to do what's right. Behind steely eyes and a strong, no-nonsense demeanor is a killer smile and a sense of humor to match.
Henry will join 24 alum Sarah Clarke, who is set to play a new FBI special agent. Like Clarke, Henry will have an option to be promoted to series regular for season 14.
"We think we found something really special in Duane Henry," showrunner Gary Glasberg said Monday in a statement. "His unique blend of charm, heart and athletic physicality is going to be a great addition to the mix. Everyone at NCIS is excited to have him join us."
Henry's credits include appearances in Law & Order: UK and Doctor Who, and he was nominated for a BAFTA's Screen Nation Award for best emerging talent in 2010. He is repped by Gersh and manager Brian Ferrantino.
Weatherly, who has been with NCIS since its inception, announced in January that this season would be his last. However, CBS' faith in the show continues, with NCIS receiving a two-season pickup in February after signing star and executive producer Mark Harmon to a new deal.
