The bitch is back! Sarah Michelle Gellar is reprising her role as the scheming Kathryn Merteuil in the TV reboot of her 1999 movie Cruel Intentions, and we couldn’t be more excited. In honor of NBC’s brilliant decision (which picks up the story 15 years after the events of the film), Us Weekly Video decided to embrace our inner bitch and take a look back at Gellar’s most devilish lines as Cruel Intentions’ sultry villain.

Gellar, who’s usually blonde, shared this adorable Instagram pic of her sporting brunette hair — Kathryn’s signature style — on March 7. While she didn’t specify what inspired the change in her locks, one could assume it’s for the filming of the pilot.

Gellar’s performance as a vengeful Upper East Sider became an instant classic when the movie debuted 17 years ago. A modern-day take on the classic French novel Les Liaisons Dangereuses, Cruel Intentions featured Gellar alongside Ryan Phillippe as wealthy teens using sexuality and blackmail to corrupt their headmaster’s daughter, played by Reese Witherspoon.
