New addition Chris Conroy and returning stars Ben Rappaport and Tom Riis Farrell also round out the cast for the drama's coming season.
Mr. Robot is firming up its cast for season two.
The hacker drama has promoted Michael Cristofer and Stephanie Corneliussen to series regulars, and added rapper Joey Bada$$ and Chris Conroy in recurring roles, The Hollywood Reporter has learned.
Cristofer recurred in season one as Evil Corp CEO, and Angela's boss, Phillip Price, who maintains a strong disposition in the face of scandal and backstabbing. His other credits include Ray Donovan and American Horror Story: Coven and he is repped by Gersh, Parseghian Planco and Bloom Hergott.
Corneliussen made a memorable turn in season one as Tyrell Wellick's smart and ruthless wife Joanna, who is willing to do whatever it takes to put her family in a position of power. The actress, whose other credits include Legends of Tomorrow and American Horror Story: Asylum, is repped by Independent Talent Group, PCM International and Lichter Grossman.
After severing ties with her husband in season one, Joanna will now have a new man in her life, Derek, played by Conroy. Their moments of intimacy leave the young, attractive Derek infatuated with her. The Grief of Others and Two Night Stand actor is repped by Gersh.
Joey Bada$$ (real name Jo-Vaughn Virginie Scott) will play a new close friend of Elliot’s from the neighborhood. He often talks excessively to Elliot, advising him and philosophizing the meanings of life.
After releasing several acclaimed mixtapes, Joey released his debut album last year, which became the most successful independent hip-hop release of 2015. Today, he serves as an executive of his own Pro Era record label.
Ben Rappaport and Tom Riis Farrell will also reprise their roles as Angela's ex, Ollie, and Bill this season.
The news follows Newsroom alum Grace Gummer's addition to the cast as a new series regular for season two, which is expected to premiere this summer on USA Network. Mr. Robot is coming off two best drama series wins from the Golden Globe and Critics Choice awards, as well as a best new series honor from the Writers Guild of America.
Rami Malek, Christian Slater, Portia Doubleday, Carly Chaikin and Martin Wallström star in the Universal Cable Productions series. The drama hails from creator Sam Esmail, who exec produces with Anonymous Content's Steve Golin and Chad Hamilton.
