Penelope Ann Miller Boards ABC’s Reese Witherspoon Divorce Drama

The actress is currently co-starring in 'The Birth of a Nation.'

Penelope Ann Miller is extending her time at ABC.

The actress, currently on anthology American Crime and who has had a recurring role on summer series Mistresses, has been tapped to co-star in the network's Reese Witherspoon-produced drama pilot.

From writer Meaghan Oppenheimer, the drama centers on a ruthless Dallas divorce attorney (uncast) whose life begins to unravel when her emotionally damaged, love-addicted sister resurfaces triggering self-destructive tendencies and exposing long-hidden family secrets.

Miller will play Elizabeth, the wife of a Texas oil billionaire who is seeking revenge after having been left for a woman 20 years younger than her.

The actress is currently part of feature The Birth of a Nation and counts features The Artist andCarlito's Way among her credits. She earned a supporting actress Golden Globe for her role in Carlito's Way. Miller is repped by Untitled and APA.

She joins a cast that also includes Grey's Anatomy alum T.R. Knight and Charity Wakefield.

Oppenheimer (Fear the Walking Dead) will pen the script for the untitled divorce drama and exec produce the ABC Studios entry alongside Witherspoon and her Pacific Standard topper Bruna Papandrea.
