CBS’ ‘Zoo’ Adds ‘Vampire Diaries,’ ‘Show Me a Hero’ Grads for Season 2

Alyssa Diaz and Josh Salatin have joined the summer drama, based on James Patterson's best-selling book.

Zoo is adding two new faces for season two.

Vampire Diaries alum Alyssa Diaz and Show Me a Hero star Josh Salatin have joined the CBS summer drama as series regulars, The Hollywood Reporter has learned.

Diaz will play Dariela, who is part of a military unit which encounters a strange and troubling new development in the animal mutation. Her other credits include Ray Donovan and Army Wives. She is repped by Joseph Le Talent Agency and Swerissen Management.

Salatin will portray Logan, a mysterious stranger Jamie (Kristen Connolly) encounters who may be hiding a dangerous secret from her. The actor, whose credits also include The Following and The Carrie Diaries, is repped by UTA and managed by Kyle Luker at Industry Entertainment. 

Zoo, based on James Patterson and Michael Ledwidge's best-selling novel, centers on a group of individuals trying to investigate the mysterious pandemic as animal attacks upon humans become more coordinated and ferocious.. James Wolk toplines the thriller, which is exec produced by Jeff Pinker, Josh Appelbaum, André Nemec, Scott Rosenberg, Michael Katleman, James Mangold, Cathy Konrad, Bill Robinson, Leopoldo Gout, Steve Bowen and Patterson. Billy Burke, Nonso Anozie andNora Arnezeder also star.

Zoo is CBS' sole returning summer drama and will be joined by two freshman series, comic-thriller BrainDead and murder mystery series American Gothic.
