Marking the broadcast series regular return for the 'My Name Is Earl' alum.

Jason Lee is returning to broadcast television.

The My Name Is Earl alum has been tapped to star in CBS comedy pilot What Goes Around Comes Around, The Hollywood Reporter has learned.

The pilot centers on two 40-something parents who were wild and reckless teenagers and now face their worst nightmare — raising three teenagers of their own.

Lee will star as Kenny, a husband, father and owner of a hip music management company, who with wife Robin (uncast) raises three kids with the hopes that they don't make the same mistakes that their parents did.

The casting marks a return to series regular broadcast television for Lee, who spent four seasons starring as Earl on NBC's My Name Is Earl. Since the series wrapped in 2009, Lee spent two seasons starring on TNT drama Memphis Beat and recurring on Up All Night as well as Raising Hope. He's repped by CAA, Ribisi Entertainment and attorney Ken Richman.

Malcolm in the Middle's Dan Kopelman will pen the script and exec produce the Warner Bros. Television drama alongside Kapital Entertainment's Aaron Kaplan and Tim Story; the latter will direct the pilot for the single-camera comedy.
