Hulu's Future Man has cast its leading lady.

Happy Endings alum Eliza Coupe has been tapped to star in the comedy pilot from Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg, The Hollywood Reporter has learned.

Future Man chronicles Josh Futturman, a janitor by day, world-ranked gamer by night (Hunger Games' Josh Hutcherson) who is tasked with preventing the extinction of humans after mysterious visitors from the future declare him to be the key to defeating the imminent super-race invasion.

Coupe will star as the female lead, Tiger, a futuristic solder who is a character in the Cybergeddon video game. Tiger and her cohort, Wolf, recruit Josh to travel back in time to save the world from the hellish landscape she left behind. This mission means everything to her, and she's prone to flying off the handle, every time Josh proves himself to be inept. She has the difficult task of controlling an idiot (Josh) and a maniac (Wolf) while keeping everyone focused on the mission. On top of all of this, she's hiding a secret that could unravel everything.

The comedy hails from Sony Pictures Television, Rogen's Point Grey Pictures and Matt Tolmach Productions. Kyle Hunter and Ariel Schaffir (Rogen's Sausage Party) will pen the script and exec produce with Rogen, Goldberg, James Weaver and Matt Tolmach. Rogen and Goldberg will also direct the pilot.

The casting brings Coupe back into the SPT fold after the studio produced her ABC cult favorite Happy Endings.Future Man also expands Coupe's relationship with Hulu, where she recurred on comedy series Casual. The actress next has a recurring role on ABC's Quantico and previously starred in USA Network's short-lived comedy series Benched. She's repped by UTA, Kirsten Ames Management and Jackoway Tyerman.

Three years after Happy Endings was canceled, the cast continues to be in high demand with many of the stars receiving multiple pilot offers this season.
