She joins a cast that includes Jeffrey Donovan, KaDee Strickland and more.
Isabella Rossellini is headed to Hulu.
The prolific actress has been tapped to co-star in Hulu drama Shut Eye, The Hollywood Reporter has learned.
Starring Burn Notice alum Jeffrey Donovan, the straight-to-series drama takes a darkly comedic look at the underground world of Los Angeles storefront psychics and the organized crime syndicate that runs them. The story revolves around Charlie Haverford (Donovan) a disgruntled player in the organization who finds his cynical world view challenged when he starts to experience visions that may or may not be real.
Rossellini will play Rita, the matriarch of the Romani clan. Rita is described as drop-dead gorgeous — and as vicious as she is beautiful. If "there were ever the antithesis of the old gypsy woman from a Wolfman movie," that's Rita. She wears Armani — and she wears it well. Dangerous and sadistic, she takes pleasure in making people pay for their foibles
Bohem will serve as showrunner on the drama, which hails from Sony Pictures Television's recently relaunched TriStar Television banner. Gran Via Productions' Mark Johnson and Melissa Bernstein (Breaking Bad) will executive produce.
Rossellini joins a cast that also includes Private Practice alum KaDee Strickland, Susan Misner, Emmanuelle Chriqui and David Zayas.
The actress, who counts Blue Velvet, Enemy and Death Becomes Her, earned an Emmy nomination in 1994 for her guest role in Chicago Hope. She's repped by APA and Art/Work Entertainment.
