Under the multi-year pact, the writer-producers will develop and produce original scripted programming for the studio.
Lionsgate TV has locked in Karyn Usher and Lisa Zwerling.
The writer-producers have signed a multi-year overall television deal with the studio to develop and produce original scripted programming through their new company, Carpool Entertainment.
Under Zwerling’s previous overall deal with ABC Studios, she executive produced Betrayal and co-executive produced FlashForward. She also created and executive produced NBC’s Julia Stiles starrer Midnight Sun and spent five seasons as a producer-writer-editor on ER.
Usher, who recently concluded an overall deal with 20th Century Fox Television, wrote for Fox’s Prison Break. During the show’s entire four season run, she went from co-producer to co-executive producer before joining Bones, for which she wrote and co-executive produced for two seasons. In addition, she created and executive produced Delirium and Rogue for Fox.
Usher and Zwerling previously worked together on John Wells’ Presidio Med, and have now reunited to form Carpool Entertainment with a mission of developing cable content with new voices.
