Be still our hearts! "Outlander" has found its Brianna!
Starz announced on Thursday that actress Sophie Skelton will play Claire and Jamie Fraser's daughter.
Like her papa, Brianna, or Bree, is a redhead. She's described by Starz as "strong-minded and intelligent beyond her years (traits inherited from both her mother and father)." She "has a distinctly scholastic mind-set and a healthy dose of Fraser stubbornness," per Starz's character description.

Back at the Television Critics Association Winter Tour, Executive Producer Ronald D. Moore told Access Hollywood they were, at the time, "very close" to casting Bree. He also spoke about the challenges of finding actors to play Brianna and Roger (who is being played by Richard Rankin).
"Claire and Jamie was a unique challenge because it really was everything and the foundation of the show, so this is a similar challenge in that it is two people that are very, very important as the series goes forward and ironically, it's taken us longer to find Brianna, just like it took longer to find Claire," Ron told Access when we sat down with him at TCAs. "But it's always made somewhat easier, as soon as you cast one of the pair, then you have at least someone that you're trying to match them against."
Sophie, who hails from Woodford, Cheshire, is a trained singer and dancer who has appeared in UK shows "Casualty," "Foyle's War," and "Waterloo Road." She also stars as the titular character in the upcoming fantasy series from Mythica Entertainment – "Ren."
"Outlander" Season 2, based on the book series from author Diana Gabaldon, premieres later this year on Starz.
