Before they can become "Legends of Tomorrow," Captain Cold and Ray Palmer are going to have to learn to work together.
In AccessHollywood.com's exclusive sneak peek at Thursday's all-new episode (above), the boys team up on a mission with disastrous results.
"I think we're learning a lot [about] how the other half lives. We're kind of black and white in many ways -- the Boy Scout, and the non-Boy Scout," Brandon Routh said when Access asked what his character, Ray Palmer/The Atom, and Wentworth Miller's Leonard Snart/Captain Cold are learning from spending time with each other in The CW show.
"It makes for a lot of comedy and fun moments, I think," he added.
Like the clip demonstrates, Captain Cold isn't solely focused on the mission to take down Vandal Savage. Snart's motivations will help keep things interesting.
"I think he always has an angle, he always has an agenda and I think it makes him one of the wild cards of the bunch [because] he's not always going to do or ever going to do exactly what he's been told to do," Wentworth told Access.
But while thieving with his pal Mick Rory/Heatwave (Dominic Purcell) is a focus for Leonard on the time traveling adventure, when Access asked the actor if his character was influenced by his time with The Flash/Barry Allen (Grant Gustin), he said Captain Cold will change over his "Legends" arc.
"My take on Captain Cold's relationship with The Flash is that I am a model of manhood for [Barry Allen]. My impression is that 'The Flash' is the story about a boy's journey into manhood and Snart represents, you know, 'This is what happens when you make a series of choices. This is what's available to you,' and that ties in with my character's journey on 'Legends,' which is his evolution as a man and as a soul," Wentworth said. "He starts out very shades of gray, but given the circumstances, given the fact that he's forced to kind of work with the team for the first time and he's developing relationships and bonds that he didn't expect to, that changes him as a man as well. There's growth there and that's kind of the most compelling part about it for me."
In Thursday's new episode, the team will run into Vandal Savage. When they do, Casper Crump's character has a very interesting reaction to seeing Franz Drameh's and Victor Garber's Firestorm.
"Savage's abilities are pretty cool. He's immortal, and he throws knives and he's a great fighter and he's a super genius and stuff, but [Firestorm] flies around and shoots fire," Casper told Access. "That's just something that is so over the top and I think Vandal is like, 'Woah! That's cool stuff.'"
