'Model Woman' hails from the recently relaunched TriStar Television.

ABC is ready to hit the runway — or at least focus on the drama behind it.

The Disney-owned network has picked up drama Model Woman to pilot, The Hollywood Reporter has learned.

Inspired by Robert Lacey's 2015 book Model Woman: Eileen Ford and the Business of Beauty, the fictionalized drama is set in the late 1970s during the notorious Model Wars. The potential series centers on Bertie Geiss — a tempestuous matriarch and uncompromising businesswoman at the helm of an internationally renowned modeling agency. Helen Childress (Reality Bites) will pen the script and exec produce the drama alongside Anonymous Content's Rosalie Swedlin and The Royals' Scarlett Lacey.

Model Woman hails from Sony Pictures Television's TriStar Television, which was revived last year with Suzanne Patmore-Gibbs. The drama was on TriStar's initial slate in August with J.J. Steinberg attached to write. (The revived TriStar landed its first series order in October, with Hulu's Shut Eye.)

Model Woman marks ABC's seventh drama pilot this season. It joins previously announced drama pilots including Kiefer Suthlerland's Designated Survivor (picked up straight to series), courtroom anthology The Jury, legal soap Conviction, Agents of SHIELD spinoff Marvel's Most WantedJohn Ridley's PI dramaPresence and Shondaland's Romeo and Juliet follow-up, Still Star-CrossedLast season, ABC ordered 12 dramas to pilot (down one from 2014).
