Cameron Diaz, Nicole Richie, and Drew Barrymore are not each getting divorced, despite a new tabloid cover story announcing “three divorces.” Gossip Cop can correct the claims for each couple.
The new issue of Star, which hit newsstands on Wednesday, alleges Barrymore, Diaz, and Richie may be forming “the next ex-wives club.” According to the magazine, “three of Hollywood’s most famous BFFs all find themselves in the same boat as their marriages simultaneously collapse.” As far-fetched as that sounds, it’s nevertheless declared that the longtime pals are “in crisis” as they are “all now on the verge of divorce.”
For Diaz and Beni Madden, it’s said their “rush to the altar” last year has now “stopped the marriage in its tracks.” A so-called “source” is quoted as saying, “I think they both realized they made a mistake.” Star speculates about career clashes and possible cheating. But one needn’t look any further than Benji’s Instagram to see that he and Diaz remain madly in love. It was just a few days ago that the rocker promoted the actress’ new book, writing, “I couldn’t be more proud of my Bad Ass wife.”
As for Joel Madden and Richie, they are also supposedly “overwhelmed by marital troubles” that are “very similar” to Diaz and Benji, which Star of course says is “not surprising given that the women married twin rock stars.” In this case, the magazine accuses Joel of being a serial cheater, with the alleged “source” saying, “It’s bad enough with these cheating stories, but when he’s thousands of miles away in Australia [for ‘The Voice’ down under] while she’s stuck with the kids, she feels totally helpless.” In fact, the tipster goes as far as saying Richie is “pretty much past the point of no return,” apparently unaware that just a few weeks ago she showed off a “Mrs. Madden” sweatshirt on Instagram, which she captioned, “#TheMrs.”
But when it comes to Barrymore and her husband Will Kopelman, Star really ups the ante. In addition to alleging that “out of all three women, none is further down the road to divorce,” it’s claimed Barrymore may be pregnant. “If that turns out to be Will’s child, he’s determined to fight for it,” alleges the outlet’s snitch, who adds, “Everyone’s wondering which she’ll announce first, her divorce or another pregnancy.” Uh, how about neither?!
Despite the mean-spirited claims that Barrymore is a “total psycho” who has “already met with divorce lawyers” and is “steeling herself for a custody battle,” there is NO pregnancy and NO divorce looming. A source close to the couple exclusively tells Gossip Cop that both allegations are “totally false.” That’s right: Star is 0 for 3 with its “three divorces” cover story.
