Jennifer Lawrence didn't expect to take home the Golden Globe for "Joy" on Sunday night. In fact, she thought Amy Schumer would win.
The friends faced off in the Best Actress in a Motion Picture – Comedy category at the 73rd Annual Golden Globes and Jennifer told Access Hollywood's Liz Hernandez backstage that she believed the "Trainwreck" star would prevail.
"I kind of blacked out. It was so weird and shocking. I was like blank for a second," she said of the moment when they called her name.
Jennifer might not have made it to the stage if it had not been for Amy.
"I really expected and wanted her to win, but she just said, 'Shut up, just go!'" JLaw explained. "She was like, 'Go!' She was being very supportive of… she snapped me out of it, like, 'You have to go up on stage now!'"
Jennifer, not exactly known for her vertical stability at an awards show, told Liz that she was really proud of herself at Sunday's show.
"I didn't fall, I'm making progress! Like five people texted me that," she said with a laugh.
The actress also spoke about bringing the story of Joy Mangano to the big screen.
"This role was so personal," she said. "It was so inspiring just for me and I'm so inspired by Joy Mangano and was just, I was so proud and happy to be a part of this movie, so when it gets recognized it's like, it's unbelievable."
