The 2016 “New Year’s Eve With Carson Daly” takes place on Thursday, and Gossip Cop has a live stream!
Carson Daly has been hosting the annual NBC New Year’s broadcast since 2003. The program was conceived as a rival to “Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve,” which airs on ABC. The show traditionally always began at 10 p.m., and then would break for the 11 p.m. news before returning for a countdown to midnight.
This year, however, “New Year’s Eve With Carson Daly” has been significantly shortened. NBC has elected to begin the night at 8 p.m. with “A Toast To 2015,” a two-hour retrospective hosted by Hoda Kotb and Kathie Lee Gifford. That will be followed by a special live edition of “Hollywood Game Night.” Stepping in for normal host Jane Lynch is Andy Cohen, and he’ll be joined by John Stamos, Bob Saget, Whitney Cummings, and more stars.
Afterward, Cohen will join Daly in Times Square at 11:30 p.m. for festivities leading up to the ball drop. That will include a performance from Gwen Stefani, who will also serve as a co-host. The No Doubt front woman, who works with Daly on “The Voice,” is expected to sing her current single, “Used To Love You.”
