Demi Lovato performed “Confident” and “Cool For The Summer” on “Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve with Ryan Seacrest” 2016 on Thursday. Watch below!
Lovato was one of several select performers to take the stage in Times Square, where Ryan Seacrest and Jenny McCarthy co-host festivities for thousands of revelers. Carrie Underwood was named as the evening’s headliner, and in addition to Lovato, she was joined by Luke Bryan, Wiz Khalifa, and Charlie Puth. Pre-taped performers from the show’s West Coast party included One Direction and Lovato’s good pal, Nick Jonas.
“Cool For The Summer” and “Confident” are the first and second singles from Lovato’s album, Confident. The record was released in October, and the singer has sung the tracks on a number of programs, including the American Music Awards and “Saturday Night Live.” It was a really successful year career-wise, and Lovato seemed to acknowledge that when she tweeted Wednesday, “2015 was pretty amazing. Let’s do this 2016!!!!”
Unfortunately, Lovato also had to deal with much sadness this year, as she lost two dogs and several relatives. She posted on Instagram, “As incredible as this year was.. This year was also extremely rough. Filled with some of the highest highs, I experienced some of the lowest lows.” We sincerely hope Lovato knows nothing but happiness in the new year.
