Courteney Cox and Will Arnett are not dating, despite a speculative webloid story. Gossip Cop can exclusively correct the claim. Multiple sources tell us the two are “just friends.”

According to TMZ, Arnett and Cox were spotted on a “date night” in Beverly Hills on Tuesday. Naturally, the webloid had a camera pointed through the window of The Palm Restaurant to observe Cox and Arnett’s dinner, even noting they ate “lobster claws.”

After the actress walked out of the restaurant, one of the site’s paparazzo asked her, “Did you guys have a great meal?” The camera then waited for Arnett to come out, and followed him. He seemingly was going to get into Cox’s car, but turned around.

The webloid then reports that they “arrived together,” and shared “a long dinner,” lending credence to the site’s belief that there appears to be “a little dating smoke.” Of course, where there’s smoke, there’s fire. And when there’s fire, sometimes people get burned, like TMZ did with its story, which questioned whether Cox and Arnett are “on the rebound?”

While usually reliable, this time the webloid is wrong. Multiple sources who know both Arnett and Cox assure Gossip Cop that the two are “just friends.”

Cox has recently been wrongly linked to a number of men since her engagement to rocker Johnny McDaid ended. Gossip Cop exclusively busted inaccurate reports that romantically linked her to former “Friends” co-star Matthew Perry and ex-boyfriend Michael Keaton.
