Scott Weiland’s bandmate Tommy Black will NOT face drug charges related to his death.

As Gossip Cop reported, Weiland was found dead on their tour bus earlier this month. The next day, Black was arrested for felony cocaine possession after the substance was found both in the bedroom where Weiland was found and in his own bunk. And on Friday, it was confirmed that Weiland died from a mixed drug toxicity, after apparently combining cocaine, alcohol, and ecstasy.

But Black will not be prosecuted for potentially playing a role in Weiland’s death. Police have declined to file formal charges after determining it would be too difficult to prove that it was specifically Black’s stash that led to Weiland’s fatal overdose. As multiple people had access to the tour bus, it could not be conclusively proven that the drugs in Weiland’s system came from Black or if it was even him who truly possessed them.

The two were on tour together as Scott Weiland & The Wildabouts, for which Black served as a guitarist. Black hasn’t specifically commented on the decision, but shared an article about the news on his purported Facebook page. The comments on the post have since been filled with congratulatory remarks.
