Angelina Jolie, Brad Pitt “Divorce Papers” Cover Story Is Tabloid Bait-And-Switch

Angelina Jolie Divorce Papers Brad Pitt December 2015

(National Enquirer)

Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt have NOT filed divorce papers, despite a bait-and-switch tabloid cover story. Gossip Cop can debunk the misleading report. Find out what’s REALLY going on here!

The new National Enquirer issue hit newsstands on Wednesday blaring, “BRAD & ANGIE: SECRET DIVORCE PAPERS!” The cover makes it seem like the supermarket tabloid has documentary proof of the couple’s alleged “$480 million court battle.” It’s even promised that the accompanying story will reveal “cheating, violence, & [a] vicious custody war.”

Of course, inside the magazine, there’s a total bait-and-switch. After repeating its false allegations from last week about Pitt supposedly becoming enraged over photos of Jolie looking happy with a crew member on the set of her new film, the outlet claims to have “obtained their secret divorce papers.” Except it’s NOT Jolie AND Pitt’s joint divorce papers.

Rather, as the National Enquirer writes, the publication has “obtained divorce papers from the couple’s three previous failed marriages.” That’s a HUGE difference, and not at all what is claimed or implied on the magazine’s cover. Most importantly, there is NO Jolie-Pitt divorce in the works.

In fact, the stars were just spotted shopping together in Cambodia on Sunday, days after attending the Cambodia International Film Festival. You wouldn’t know that from the National Enquirer, though, which paints a completely different, and wrong, picture. But what is abundantly clear is that the tabloid isn’t interested in giving the truth when it can try to trick readers instead.
