Amal Clooney NOT Divorcing George Clooney Over Cindy Crawford Comments, Despite Report

Amal Clooney is NOT divorcing George Clooney, despite a report ridiculously claiming Cindy Crawford is coming between them. Gossip Cop can debunk the nonsense.

According to Celeb Dirty Laundry, Amal “completely freaked out” after Crawford “recently dished about a nearly naked encounter she had with George Clooney.” The webloid fails to mention that the silly story the model shared is a tale both parties have been humorously telling for years. But the site uses it as an excuse to speculate about the Clooneys’ marriage, and how Crawford may be affecting their union, even asking, “Will Amal Alamuddin file for divorce?”

Based on that rather inconsequential old story, CDL suggests there could be “trouble in newlywed paradise” because George may be “comparing Amal to Cindy.” The outlet writes, “Clooney may just mention from time to time Cindy is a very, very, very beautiful woman. But does that mean George thinks Amal is ugly?” Of course not.

And yet the webloid drones on, “But Amal and George haven’t even been married a year, and all this talk about Cindy’s looks could have Alamuddin wondering if Clooney is going to stick around.” The piece concludes by pointing out that Crawford is “happily married” to George’s best friend Rande Gerber (whose name is misspelled throughout the article), and declaring that Amal “needs to calm down.”

Um, perhaps it’s Celeb Dirty Laundry that needs to “calm down,” as it appears the site is the one “freaked out” about Crawford’s story, not Amal. The human rights lawyer is in no way concerned about a funny old story she’s heard before, and she’s completely secure in her marriage to George. And the suggestion that he is comparing his wife to his long-ago memory of Crawford is absurd.

Even more absurd is the notion that Amal is on the verge of divorcing George because of Crawford’s innocuous comments. CDL just wanted to stir the spot and sensationalize the situation into something more scandalous than it really is.
