Khloe Kardashian opened up about Lamar Odom‘s recovery, calling off her divorce, and how the situation has affected her relationship with James Harden on Monday’s “On Air With Ryan Seacrest.” Listen below, and get the highlights here!

Khloe On Lamar’s Recovery
“Lamar is actually doing great compared to where he was… It was not looking good from where we started. He’s not on any machines to keep him alive anymore. His kidneys are recovered and all of his organs are pretty much recovered. It’s more his brain is still affected, and physically, he has to learn how to walk again. He’s learning how to feed himself again, and all those normal things we take for granted every day.

And it’s a really long load, and it’s going to take a long time. I think people hear he’s off machines and they’re like, ‘Oh, great, he’s going to be running out of there,’ and that’s not the case. But I’m so blessed from the progress to where he is. I know he’ll get there. It’s just going to take time.

What the doctors tell me is, ‘We don’t have a crystal ball.’ They love reiterating that to me. I’m very optimistic and I want to believe he can. There are no promises, but if he’s willing to do the work — I know the speech therapy, or the occupational therapy, or just all the cognitive stuff, I’m sure it’s really hard for him and frustrating — but if he’s willing to do it, I don’t see why not. But it will take at least a year — at least.”

Khloe On Staying By Lamar’s Side
“I love Lamar, and this was always a huge fear of mine that we would get to this place. So I just don’t see how I could not be involved. I’m so invested and connected. I just feel like it’s part of my job — in my heart that’s where I feel like I need to be.”

Khloe On Withdrawing Divorce
“When I first filed for divorce, it was one too many times of either Lamar not following through with rehab or one of our interventions. Everyone kept saying to me, ‘You have to use the divorce card and that’s what will get him to finally make a decision.’ So I did that, and when it didn’t work, I was like ‘Okay, I don’t know if I really wanted that divorce.’ So at first it was really hard for me to just let go, and I kind of let it linger… I was still hopeful for a long time.

[After a year] I think was I finally getting closure on my own… He didn’t have the capacity to fight for himself, let alone to fight for us, and I finally had I think comfort in knowing that.

[After starting to date Harden] Any guy that you’re with, they don’t want to date someone who’s technically married, even though we’re legally separated… I was expediting it. Then when all of this happened, I knew the divorce I pushed to expedite it, so when I called my lawyer and I said we need to see where the divorce stands and how quickly it’s going to get done, because at the time he was still in a coma…

Then I found out it would’ve been finalized within seven days because it was on the judge’s desk. So my lawyer suggested let us just pull the divorce out of the process of expediting, and that’s what I did. Because I did not think — I just thought it was really insensitive [to move forward].”

Khloe On James Harden
“I get why it’s confusing, I understand all that, but James has been great. He’s been very supportive with everything. There’s of course times where I’m sure he was very uncomfortable about some of the things, but I’m a very honest person, and I have nothing to hide, and I was very open with how I feel like how I had to handle everything with Lamar, and I really, really appreciate how supportive James has been, and it wasn’t another layer of stress on me. He’s been great, and I’ve been open and honest.

But I think at first there definitely was a transition period for all of us, because it’s a very weird situation, and of course I’ve never been in that before. I hope no one’s been in that before. So it’s really just trying to make everyone happy and comfortable at the same time.

We’re great. We’re awesome. I’m actually going to see him next week. I have a book signing in Houston. So we’re awesome and we’re trying to make all of our schedules work. It’s a lot with work and his career and then me also having to also make time for Lamar and all of the medical stuff as well, but we make it work…. He’s not a big media person, which I love and respect. So opposite from us… I’ll even say, ‘I’m gonna do Ryan Seacrest, I’m sure they’re gonna ask about us. Like, does that bother you?’ He’s like, ‘No.'”
