Pauley Perrette, best known for her role on the hit CBS crime series “NCIS,” was brutally attacked by a homeless man near her Hollywood home on Thursday. The actress tweeted about the traumatic experience, revealing that she was badly beaten and “almost died.” Many of Perrette’s fans, and a few celebrities, are now lending their support to the actress on Twitter. “Two and a Half Men” star Jon Cryer wrote to the actress, “Oh god. Terrifying. Be safe. Be strong. And don’t be afraid to ask for help.” Harry Ford from “Code Black” tweeted, “Shining a light on you now. I’m so very sorry.” Marlee Matlin expressed, “So sorry to hear about your attack but so grateful you’re okay and the attacker was caught. Thinking of you.” And radio personality Elvis Duran said, “Warm love, Pauley.”

A fan with the Twitter handle @mouseferatu noted, “You don’t know me, and I’m sure I’m just one voice among many, but… We’re grateful you’re alive, too. The suspect has been identified as a 45-year-old man named David Merck. The police arrested him for aggravated battery shortly after the incident occurred, and he is currently being held on a $100,000 bail.
