Gwyneth Paltrow is NOT selling Goop, despite a new report. Gossip Cop can exclusively debunk the claim, which comes from one of the tabloids. A rep for the star tells us it’s “B.S.”
According to Star, Paltrow “is in talks to sell her lifestyle brand Goop for eight figures.” A so-called “source” is quoted as saying, “She’s had a great time building Goop, but it’s time to pass the torch.” The outlet goes on to speculate that Paltrow “may be partly motivated by jealousy” after Zooey Deschanel’s HelloGiggles was sold to Time Inc.
“It’s a big sacrifice for her, so she’d only sell for a good price,” claims the Star tipster, clearly not even committing to its allegation. In fact, the magazine further backs away from the story’s premise by saying Paltrow “may have trouble turning over the reins.” The supposed “source” adds, “She’s watched her project grow and feels really attached to it, like a proud mama.”
Contrary to the allegations, however, Paltrow is NOT “giving up her baby.” When asked about intentions to sell Goop, a rep for the actress exclusively told Gossip Cop the story is “complete B.S.” Wait, Star got a story wrong about a big star? Color us shocked!
