Shiri Appleby Shows Us How To Make Sloppy Joes With Fiance, Chef Jon Shook: Watch

Stars, they eat just like Us! Shiri Appleby and her fiance, chef and restaurateur Jon Shook, opened their home to Us Weekly to show Us how they make one of their favorite family meals: sloppy joes.

“Long story short, this dish doesn’t take much — you can get all the product that you need at the grocery store,” Shook, co-owner of L.A.’s Animal, Son of a Gun, Trois Mec, Petit Trois, and Trois Familia, explained. The couple, who got engaged in August 2012, often cook together at home, Appleby told Us.

“If we entertain, I do most of the prep work, and [Jon] comes in and kind of puts it together,” the 36-year-old UnREAL actress said. “But I do most of the cooking at home.”

The couple’s daughter, 2-year-old Natalie, also gets into the mix (the pair announced that they’re expecting a second child together this past August.)

“This weekend Natalie and I bought some pumpkins at the farmers' market, [and] he taught us how to make pumpkin soup,” she added. “He’s teaching us, like sitting on the couch kind of, giving us the directions as if it’s like a human cookbook. But we’re doing it all.”

Check out the couple’s tag-team cooking in the video above, and try out their recipe below:
