The 31-year-old singer first opened up about her health issues in April, telling People she was "bedridden for five months" during the most difficult phase of her struggle.

"I felt like I couldn't breathe, I couldn't talk and I couldn't move," she added.

Since going public with her condition, Avril has become an activist for fellow Lyme Disease sufferers.

In September, she announced an initiative with her Avril Lavigne Foundation to raise money for awareness and treatment of the sickness.

Supporters are entered for a chance to win a voice-over role in Avril's upcoming animated movie, "Charming." The campaign has raised more than $60,000 and will announce the lucky winner on Friday.
