The explosive new footage for the rest of season two reveals Carter's older boyfriend has a past that is catching up to her present.

Carter's (Kathryn Prescott) new boyfriend is not what he appears to be on Finding Carter.

Now that 25-year-old bar owner Jared (Jackson Rathbone) knows that Carter is only 17, the unlikely pair decided to risk it all and begin dating. Everything has been sweet and romantic between them so far. But what Carter doesn't know is that Jared is blackmailing her newly discovered brother Ben (Ben Winchell) to do a mysterious favor for him.

The Hollywood Reporter has the exclusive midseason trailer for the MTV series, and the shocking footage reveals not only Jared's criminal background, but also that he's going to force Ben to deal drugs for him. Carter has no idea, and she pushes Jared to host more guerilla-style raves to make quick cash to save his failing bar. But when someone dies at one of their illegal parties, Jared's dark past catches up with him, pushing him over the edge. He might even become violent towards Carter.

The action-packed trailer also reveals that Crash (Caleb Ruminer) returns to win Carter back, despite the fact that she's with Jared. Max (Alex Saxon) confronts his abusive father and things take a violent turn. He also gets into a fight with Gabe (Jesse Henderson) over Taylor (Anna Jacoby-Heron), as Gabe has made it clear he has feelings for her.

But the most shocking reveal from the trailer is Carter deciding to move out of her family's home. What could possibly prompt Carter to move in with Lori (Milena Govich), her kidnapper?
