What went down inside the Bronco? A new teaser for American Crime Story: The People v. O.J. Simpson was released on Tuesday, Nov. 3, and it features a reenactment of O.J. Simpson's bizarre June 1994 car chase — from his perspective.
The clip from FX begins with Simpson's white Ford Bronco fleeing down Interstate 405 with three police cars in pursuit. "You saw the Bronco," the text in the clip reads. "But you weren't in the Bronco."
Then, the cameras shift to the inside of the vehicle. As the car approaches a highway partition littered with spectators, a man is heard panting heavily.
"I'm not a bad person," says Cuba Gooding Jr., who portrays Simpson in Ryan Murphy's upcoming anthology series. Gooding sits in the back seat of the car, gripping a silver pistol in his hand. Malcolm-Jamal Warner as Al "A.C." Cowlings, though unseen in the frame, is presumably driving.

In real life, the driver of the Bronco was Simpson's old friend Cowlings, who notified police of the NFL player's whereabouts after he failed to turn himself in to the LAPD. At the time, Simpson was suspected of murdering his ex-wife, Nicole Brown Simpson, and her friend Ron Goldman.

The bizarre chase, which started at 35 miles per hour eventually ended with a fleet of 20 police cars and close to a dozen helicopters pursuing the Bronco. Though evidence pointed to Simpson at the time, the former running back was found "not guilty" of Goldman's and Brown's murders after an eight-month trial in 1995.

The first season of American Crime Story: The People v. O.J. Simpson will be centered on the murder trial itself. Along with Gooding, other stars to join the massive endeavor include John Travolta as lead defense attorney Robert Shapiro, David Schwimmer as the late Robert Kardashian, Selma Blair as Kris Kardashian, and Sarah Paulson as Marcia Clark.
